The office of Ken Detzner, Secretary of State, with the assistance of the office of Division of Corporations, has the authority to Apostille documents in the State of Florida.
Documents notarized with the commission of a Florida notary and certified as true with a notarial certificate by a Florida Notary Public will be acceptable for apostille as long as they are written in English. Only documents notarized in Florida can be apostilled in Tallahassee.
Very important to consider, birth and death certificates with the signature of the current State Registrar C. Meade Grigg obtained from the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville Florida are acceptable for apostille. Also consider the following acceptable signatures for apostille purposes:

For a Florida apostille on a death certificate, please note the certificate have to been issued within the last 10 years.
Note that documents issued by a local health officer will not be acceptable for apostille.
Business documents signed by the Secretary of State or competent authority will be acceptable for apostille.
Automobile car titles certified by the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles will be acceptable for apostille.
