The Office of Secretary of State Denise W Merri in Hartford provides apostilles to original certified and notarized documents that were issued in Connecticut ideally no more than seven years ago.
To obtain an apostille for an academic record issued in Connecticut for Yale University, University of Connecticut and Trinity College among others you may request a copy of your diploma and or transcripts from you school or alternatively make a copy and notarize the records you currently have stating that this is a true and correct copy.
Your document will be acceptable for apostille if they is signed by any of the following: State registrar, town, deputy and assistant Clerks. Judges from the Superior and probate courts and notaries public. You may obtain from your Town Clerk certified copies of public records. Please contact your local town clerk directly.
A notary public in Connecticut cannot certify photocopies of documents; therefore an alternative is to type a letter stating the veracity and correctness of the copy. Bring this letter to a notary where he/she will attach a jurat and notarize the document. After this step your document is ready to obtain the apostille.
