The Honolulu office of The Honorable Shan S. Tsutsui Lieutenant governor issues apostilles in the State of Hawaii for Public and private documents.
Take into consideration that vital records for such as birth, death and marriage records issued by the State Bureau of Conveyances must be certified copies and bear a pen in hand signature and not a stamped signature to be acceptable for apostille.
Please note that court documents should bear the seal and stamp of the clerk of the court to be acceptable.

In case you need a copy of a Certificate please contact The Department of Health Status Monitoring and request a new certificate: http://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/apostilles/
Take into consideration that general documents such as POA (power of attorney), corporate documents and school records need to be properly notarized and verified by the Circuit Court before being acceptable for apostille.
Considerations for diplomas and transcripts issued by the University of Hawaii , Hawaii Pacific University, Brigham Young University-Hawaii and University of Hawaii at Hilo among other educational institutions should be previously notarized by a duly commissioned Notary Public of the State of Hawaii.
If you need an authentication (for non member countries of the Hague convention) instead of an apostille, these documents will be issued by the State Circuit Court.
