To obtain an apostille from the office of the Texas Secretary of State Nadita Berry in Austin Authentications Unit please take a moment to review the following guidelines to make sure your documents are suitable for apostille:

Considerations for vital statistic documents: such as birth and death certificates must be certified copies issued by:State Registrar of Vital Statistics Debra f Owens or Geraldine R Harris

Note bout Local Registrar documents (make sure that a certificate obtained from a local registrar must be issued within the last 3 years)

Considerations for marriage certificates: should be issued by the Clerk of the court where the marriage took place.

Considerations for divorce decrees: documents must be issued by a district judge.

Considerations for notarized documents: must be notarized by a Texas Notary Public with a current valid commission.

Considerations for business documents: such as trademarks, certificates and articles of incorporation that have been issued by the secretary of state are acceptable for apostille.
